Make over !

I wanted something new for my blog. Too bad I'm not technologically good at this stuff. And it's not exactly what I want... but I'm a scientist. Not a computer sci person. OH well. Close enough.

It's fun. And reminds me of Minnie.

But because I don't have enough time to actually update, because I've been messing around with this all day, I'll just post some of our family pics since we had them done quite a while ago and I feel the need to neglect updating my blog. Ever.

The Perry Family ! 3.0 :]

So I totally loved this picture, until I noticed the drain pipe hahaha

Pretty leaves!

LOVE this

My beautiful boy

Um... yeah. That's a real deer.

Warning: Rant Coming

Oh blog, what would I do without you? Probably punch someone. Or the wall. Or yell at someone. Or the wall.  Spoiler alert: I'm about to go off. You've been warned. The following is for my own ventilation (haha) and if its enjoyable, your reading enjoyment.

So enjoy.

Once again, my boobs are a hot topic at work. BOOBS. UGH. Why, why oh why ! The saga continues. Luckily I missed this actually going down but I'm still pretty heated either way.

Recap: I pump. My breasts, for all you prudes out there, get over it. We all know this. I had a baby. I feed that baby... any questions? Ask your mom. Everyone had decided I was going to use Carla's office because she so graciously offered it to me and that's pretty much all I'm going to get. When I talked to the dept. head's wife before taking this to HR to get something more proper, she didn't seem like using Carla's office was all bad. But then again, she's not the one using it. I am. It's awesome being in someone else's space all exposed and, its just awkward. Waiting for a knock on the door, or someone (ie Carla) trying to come in. I digress. So that was the "agreed" upon arrangement. Well, a few days last week Carla was out of town. Didn't let me know. I have no way to get in the office. What to do? Um... I gotta pump. SO back to the lab I go. Cause really? What are my other options on this floor full of ZERO options. For 2 days I just pumped in the lab again because my boss doesn't care. MY BOSS DOESN'T CARE. Unless Mr. Bad Day is around, and he wasn't. Well yesterday, I picked up my bag and walked on over to Carla's office to find out once again, it's locked. Turn around and start my ticked off walk BACK to the lab. This time I put the little "no boys allowed" sign on the door in case my boy co-worker Bill comes back to the lab.  Pumped. Went to lunch. No harm no foul. Or so I thought.

I came in late today because Logan had a check up (he's doing awesome btw, probably because I'm such a diligent breastfeeder!!!!) Anyways. Someone, who we will call... Diana (tehe) decided to go tattle to my boss. She had a few things, not just me pumping in the lab. But just wanted my boss to be aware that I was still pumping in the lab so she didn't get in trouble... Really? Are you REALLY concerned for Piyali? REALLY!?!?! Doubt it. Cause if Diana was concerned, she'd have talked to me. Cause she's on my level. You don't outrank me! Who do you think you are that you can go above my head and tell on me? I SO want to go over and say well, Carla's outta town... so can I use YOUR office, since you know, you're so concerned with this problem... What. The. Heck. Again. Why does someone care SO much about me brestfeeding/pumping. Why is this everyone's freaking concern? It's already a challenge. I already want to quit everyday except I feel like the most selfish person. So I keep on, because last I check being a mommy isn't about what I want. And then stupid crap like this keeps happening. Really?

Email has been sent to the Department Head. I'm back to being hyped up about this. Bring it on. Told him I need to meet with him about me pumping and a place (awkward much?) and I am fully prepared to address Diana and her "concern" and pretty much want to throw her under the bus.

She also complained that my co-workers weren't working because they were sitting in the lobby eating the donuts that Bill brought in this morning. And who wants to stand in the hallway eating when you can sit on the comfy couches in the lobby. And, since she's so lab conscientious she should know you can't eat in the lab.

I want to yell in her face. Or actually politely ask for her problem solving skills and she can speak her first words to me and tell me where the heck I should pump.

The End. Well not really. We'll see what happens when Dr. Rankin comes back (he's no at work, yippee) and I talk to him about this. In the mean time, I will be pumping. Just so you guys aren't on edge about my body and what I'm doing with it.

If I only had a brain...

Well, that last post I thought I had written and posted has been sitting in draft limbo for um.. about a week. Good times. So I just finished the story (sort of, there's a lot more to it, whatever) and posted it. And now in more recent news :]

My baby will be 6 months next week. Weird. I can't believe he's 1/2 way to a year. He's still so little, but getting so big. Everyone loves him, strangers, my boss, co-workers, anyone. It's fun to have such a cute happy baby. He really is adorable. So, to capture his adorable-ness, we go get family pictures (FINALLY!) I love pictures. I've had our outfits purchased for like a month.

So cute right?

Excited. Even had a cute little hat for Logan that inspired the outfit picking. Scheduled for Sunday (yesterday) after church. I'm all stressed since we get out of church at 230pm that we'd lose sunlight so we left early straight from church. And I had to have everything ready before hand. Not just for church, but for everything ! Ah. Outfits. Makup. Hair stuff. Baby stuff. I even brought stuff for lunch. And had dinner in the crock pot. Go me. Seriously thought I had it all down. So proud. FORGOT HIS HAT ! AHHH. So Mad. That's really all I forgot tho. OH and got home, took a nap from such a busy day, and the stupid crockpot wasn't even on. Like it was on, and plugged in, but... not heated. Not sure why. Stupid thing. We were starving. Ugh. Lame.

So pictures. Ashley Draper is too fun. I love it. She's had beautiful property. Unfortunately it's been rainy so there were a few bare trees that used to be pretty and colorful. Oh well. It's still pretty. I think we got some good shots. She took a ton of pictures. And we went all over. It was a bit chilly so I was worried about Logan. He was a little cranky. So sad. He's such a happy baby too ! We could not get a smile out of him. Well we could, but not facing the camera. Ugh. He has the cutest smile. It's adorable, takes up his whole face. Come on kid ! I'm excited to see them though. We got to play with a deer. Like a real live deer. Ashley has one that wanders around the woods and comes back to her house to eat in the morning and at night. She rescued it when it was a baby so it's all domesticated. It was a lot of fun. She's so soft and fuzzy :] And Logan was reaching for her. It was super cute. I can't wait to see the pictures. I love pictures.

What else has been going on. Work has been work. I wish more stuff was going on. We work. The end. We're getting, or trying to get, our San Diego trip set up. I love planning. Especially trips. Especially trips I don't have to pay for. We get to stay at the Hilton, very nice. Right on the bay. So excited. So much money. Ah. I get stressed seeing how much its going to cost. But yay for going to Cali, seeing the temple, the beach, hopefully sneaking away to see Maddie ! Can't wait.

Church life has been hectic. There are lots of changes. No, I'm not getting released. At least not that I know of. I love serving in the RS presidency. I like my little niche. Which means things are going to get shook up. I have had to scramble with teaching schedules and randomly filling in. Which turns out ok because it's good practice for me to come up with a lesson. Then I got an assignment to speak at Stake Conference. Yikes. I wanted to melt into the floor. And it was at the adult session. I guess I'm an adult. Ugh. I got to talk about the Work of Salvation and the Family. Maybe I'll make my talk into a post and share it, maybe. Probably not. I should. And then I just got done with that what like a week or so ago. All that stress and craziness and now I've got to start working on my lesson for Relief Society. So much ! Thankfully I always think about my topics for forever and practically write my lessons before I actually sit down to write them. I'm excited for this one. Mostly because I kind of came up with this topic. I have some people in mind that need to hear it. But those people are never around. Or they don't pay attention. We'll see. Hopefully the lesson comes across well.  I really can't complain about having so much to do with church. Really? How better to spend my time then pondering these topics, listening to conference talks, or searching the scriptures for material.

What else... Thanksgiving is coming up. I'm pretty dang excited. I have a few little traditions I want to do. Yay for having babies. And since Chris is leaving UPS I'm pretty sure we'll be able to go to NJ!! AHH ! So excited. It's probably going to be a pain to drive that long with Logan. Or it will be cold. Or stormy. I bet Chris will have snow removal and we won't end up going. Ah. I'd cry. I need some Wawa. Hot turkey bowl. Yummy. And boardwalk love. And I need to meet the future Mr Taylor Cadiente. I can't believe my little Tay is engaged. Ugh I feel old. Can't wait for her! Marriage rocks.

I can't really think of anything else going on in my life. My brain is fried. I stayed up too late.

Anticipation!

My apologies. I really shouldn't keep anyone waiting to read the interesting stories of my life. It has been a whole month since my last post. So sorry.

Not much has really been going on. Sorry to disappoint.

Chris is having fun this semester. It's been his first actual hard semester. He's never really had high demand classes, or if he did, it was one class, or only for an assignment or two. Well, it's all caught up to him. It's sad because I can't help for anything. I don't know about programming, or Java, or blah blah blah I can't even tell you words. And he's wanting to stay up late to do homework, cause me and Logi are such a distraction. But with work at 5am, he can't. He doesn't do well off of no sleep. Me, I can get 4 hours and hit the ground running all day. Eventually it will catch up to me, but for the time being... He can't do that. So it's become a balancing act. And sadly, he's cutting UPS. No more early morning job for him. I'm sad because it was the PERFECT job. Sort of. He hated most of the people, and honestly hated getting up, but once he was up he was fine. The actual work wasn't too bad. The pay was good. The hours were amazing ! It's so sad. So now, we just have to make sure he's working every Saturday for family. Which is sad. I loved having our lazy Saturdays, or running errands like a little family. No more. But it should pretty much cover the money we'll lose from UPS. Especially since they have to take out union dues now. Ugh. So here's to big scary steps. Like quitting jobs. I hate money. 6 months & 20 days til graduation. I know we'll miss the simplicity of this time, but I'm ready for my husband to not hate his place in life and get on to making his dreams happen.

Ok. The end of that part.

Baby ! So Logan is the cutest thing. He's actually quite pitiful right now. He's got a little cold, so he coughs and its so sad, and sneezes and his eyes get all watery and he's all stuffy and has a runny nose, magically at the same time. But he's still adorable. He's rolling from back to belly like a champ. Just figured out he could go the other way and looks so confused when he goes from belly to back. He's been on his veggie solids for about a week. We've dived into sweet potatoes, carrots and green beans. Yummy. Not so much. But I've gotten no resistance from him. He likes them all. He even knows what to do when the spoon is coming at his face. Open mouth, don't grab with hands. He's getting so big ! He also has his first little tooth popping through. Poor guy. Can't feel good. But its this teeny tiny tooth on the bottom. I wish that would be it and he'd stop drooling. He soaks his clothes and it can't be comfy to have wet clothes with this weather getting colder. What else. He still talks up a storm. Eats everything (thanks stupid teeth) and loves his mommy and daddy. I love coming home to his little smiles, well big smiles. Its the best part of my day.

OH fun story. Might be TMI for some people, but I don't think so. Get over it.

So I work. I know you know. Oh and I have a baby. Newsflash: I breastfeed. Oh no. I said it. Breasts ! AHH. K, got that outta your system? So, when I'm at work, guess what? I have to pump. Usually we kick the boys out, put a no boys allowed sign on the door and I sit at my desk. All us girls don't care, we work on the computer. There are no experiments going on, nothing gross or life threatening. Our lab is a pretty clean place believe it or not. So sounds good? Cause ya know, I don't work at the hospital where they have rooms for this stuff, or a school, or where ever. This system works pretty well. I hated kicking the boys out. But whatever. Well, we had our random lab inspection the other day with the Chief Safety Officer (sounds official right? we call his Mr. Bad Day, cause he sucks and always gives memos/write ups for the dumbest things). He comes in at no other time than, PUMPING TIME ! Fast forward a little, Katie (my co worker) is going to jump on his and rip him to shreds and he proceeds to tell us the lab probably isn't the best place and "we'll find a better place." Ok, you do that. Lemme know in this science building thats pretty much full, of labs, where I can pump. That day we talked to a lady on the floor who says I can use her office (super nice of her right?) to pump. She's never in it. Just go in lock the door and she'll get the hint. I feel bad. She's only ever needed in there once while I was in there, but even that. It's not my space. I'm bored (suck it up I know!) I used to be able to get work done for that 30mins at my desk. Mr Bad Day's suggestion... they have rooms for that over in the Student Center. Ok. It's not like that building is next door. It's 10-15min walk across campus. Everyday. Twice a day. With my awkward heavy pumping bag. And what about in January when its 15 degrees out... Would YOU walk across campus taking 15 mins to walk there, 30 mins to pump and 15 mins back? Twice? 2 hours?! Stupid man.

The end.

Almost Fall !

I guess it's been almost a month. About my time to update !

A lot has been going on, but not a lot. I know, I make so much sense.

We went to the temple for the first time since (I think) my 3rd trimester since a day trip wasn't recommended. It was so nice to go back. I miss it. Logan made the trip with us, and his awesome Tia Mikinzie and cousin something or other Kodi took care of him. It was the longest 2 hours. I kept thinking of every possible thing that could go wrong ! He was a HUGE pain on the ride back that took longer than expected. He was sick of the car and carseat. I was out of patience for the noise, crying, movies, cramped car, long day, etc. It really was the worse way to end such an amazing day. Dang you Satan!

Merts home ! Woo !

Chris is back at school. Busy. Doing good. He always has at least one class he's not sure about. Unfortunately, we don't have time to drop it, and really there aren't other options of when to take it, other professors etc. Yay being a senior... I updated his major's evaluation, and he only has 2 required classes for next semester, his two "senior/captone" classes. And if I added correctly only 1 more credit to have enough to graduate. Who's his rockstar advisor who made this happen...? Oh... ya know, just me. BAM ! So time for some suggestions on pointless fun easy GPA boosting electives. Ready... GO.

Life is pretty hectic. I wake up, usually in a hurry because I can't wake up to my alarm and get going if the baby is still sleeping. "Sleep when the baby sleeps" is ingrained in my brain. He's still sleeping through the night. SO BLESSED ! Last night, he was OUT by 9pm and then woke up talking to himself somewhere between 730/8am. I love. I love more listening to him talk to his little hippo mobile on the monitor.

That's another development. Since Utah, he was coo-ing and make little noises. But rarely and usually in response to you talking to him for forever. But now, he's talking. All. The. Time. In the carseat. Alone in his crib. Sitting in his rocker. He'll talk to anyone. Or no one. I love it. He's testing volume but it's so cute I don't care how loud his little noises are.

He has his 4 month check up. No shots because he had an ear infection ! I'm the worst mommy ever ! I had no idea. And the Doc asked if he was showing such and such symptoms, and I'm like well yeah... for Chris. He's always a darling peach for me. But we got him on some delicious bubblegum (I'm pretty sure) flavored Amoxicillin. Yum. He takes it like a champ. And to top it off, I'm waiting for teeth to pop through. They aren't bubbly yet, and he definitely won't let you check cause anything near his mouth gets clamped between the gums and gnawed on. So he likes to chew. On everything. He even has a chew toy courtesy of Miss Katie.

He loves going to Suzie's for baby sitting. They have fun together. Her husbands even toting him around. It's cute. She's even bought toys and chairs and play mats. He's spoiled. I love it. I love having someone who cares about him, and takes care of him and I can trust.

So 4 month stats: 16lbs 4oz, 25 1/2 inches long and ~60th  %tile all around. He's pretty above average :] But we all already knew that. He's awesome. So cute. Loves mommy. Gives daddy a hard time most afternoons when he's stuck at home with him. We figured it was because of the ear infection. But now after all the antibiotics he's still kinda cranky for Chris. Last night was I think 2ish (probably more) hours of crying until I got home. Poor Chris. He's such a good sport about it. He knows there isn't anything we can do to change the situation. I can't stay home with him. Obviously. Chris has to finish school. I'm hoping it's just a mommy phase. Or because he's teething and doesn't feel good he wants his mommy. I don't know.

K. Moving on. I love my baby.

I had my 27th bday. Gross. It was a regular weekend. I got too excited for it and then my expectations were... too high lol I did get a delicious bday lunch from my mother in law from Chilis. Yummy. Quesadilla Explosion Salad. YUM. And singers. And my husband got me some stuff from my pinterest wishlist (yes I have one) and he said the presents were lame "BUT THEY'RE ON YOUR WISHLIST!" Poor guy. I love them. I needed them. They are on my wishlist. So I'm 27. ::gag:: except I totally was so thankful that day, and even remember saying my morning prayers and thanking Heavenly Father for allowing me to be here for 27 years, good healthy years. Happy years. When so many people don't even get a fraction of that. And even if they do, I'm so blessed and happy in those years. A big thanks to all who helped make that weekend  wonderful. Especially for my bday dinner of Wendys & Coldstone. Oh yeah. Wendys. That wasn't even the right order. Go me.

Here are some pictures. I dont know what else to talk about :]

He's just so beautiful !

Holy Hannah !

Time flies ! I didn't realize it had been THAT long since I'd updated. I thought maybe a few weeks, but over a month. My poor lost readers ;]

So in that past month.

Going back to work was hard, but honestly it was just the first few days. Luckily I have such an amazing flexible job and incredible co workers that it's not like I'm here slaving away for 40hrs a week [probably like I should be !] I always have a few hours in the morning with Logan to play, and hang out and talk to while I get ready for work and put him to sleep, so I get some snuggles in. And then I'm home before I know it. And Chris pretty much passes him off for the rest of the night. Which is nice, because I miss my baby. Which isn't so nice when dinner needs to get made, house cleaned, stuff done, etc. But refer to last post where that stuff can wait because growing babies definitely don't wait.

Logan is growing so fast. I swear he's 3 feet long [not really but he sprawls out across me when I'm done feeding him and it seems like it] and he's a little chunk. He has moved on to his 3-6 month clothes and even some of those are a tiny bit tight. He's not even 4 months yet !! How can he be growing out of clothes that are supposed to last 3 months. He'll be 4 months next week. Time flies.

He's sitting up, not completely by himself. He loves his bumbo seat. He sits in it while I clean or cook and talks to me. He loves just jabbering away. Always. He gets so animated when he's on his changing table. It's hilarious. I'm just glad he's not screaming while he's getting his diaper changed. Those days will come I'm sure.

He's been sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks now. I think one night in there he woke up once. I'll take it. One night outta twenty. Why am I so spoiled with this perfect little baby ? So many of my friends are having babies right now ! It's been like every month since February at least one pops up in my news feed. I love seeing their little chubby faces ! It makes me miss when mine was a little guy. And watching the last few posts of pregnancy bellies, makes me definitely miss being pregnant. I get so excited to get pregnant again ! Whenever people talk about more babies, or trying or whatever, I'm like aw, I want to get pregnant again. I'm so glad it was such a great experience. Fingers crossed they're all like that [HA, jokes on me I know]. Maybe next fall. Even though Chris said this fall since "I'm getting so old" THANKS!

Today's my hubby's bday. Big 2-5. He's so little. He's dreading it. He doesn't like getting old. It made me sad that he said 25 and never accomplished anything. Excuse me? He has an absolutely adorable little boy. Perfect. We've been married for 3 wonderful years. He's starting his last year of college and he'll have a degree before he's 26. He served a mission and loved it. Hello bilingual ! He's so accomplished and incredible. Most people haven't figured out anything by 25 and he's leaps and bounds ahead of them ! He's wonderful and I'm so glad I get to spend eternity with him and get to celebrate him today !

I've started going to the gym with Patti. She's my personal trainer who tells me I have to do 25 flutter kicks. Or 15, FIFTEEN satans... but it will pay off. Hopefully. If not, we have fun. We get to joke and laugh harder than we probably should at the gym. But its good times.

Chris started a UPS. He hates getting up so early. 515am-9am. ugh. But he does it. So that he can bring in a little bit of extra cash and be home to take care of the baby. It gets me to work later than I'd like and I feel horrible, but it beats $100's a week for day care that we'd only need for a few hours a day. He works so hard. I can't imagine hauling boxes is easy work. Especially at 6am. But he does it.

Logan went to the baby sitters for the first time this past week. Just so me and Chris could run around and get some errands done and so Suzie could "get used to him." He did just fine. I'm sure she wouldn't have any problems. But she's such an angel and a huge blessing for helping us out. It's insane how things have worked so perfectly for us! Blessing. I'm telling you. Obedience = blessings !!

Ok. No more rambling. I'm excited for the next few weeks & September. Logan's 4 months. Chris starts his senior year of college [yay for 4 yr degrees in 4 years!] I get to turn 27 [yuck]. Fall is beautiful around here. I love the trees changing. So much going on and I love it !

Some pictures of my adorable baby. Enjoy !

Look at that forearm roll ! Who has a forearm roll !! Fatties !
